Job Summary
A law firm based in Edenvale, Johannesburg is seeking a Debt Collection Attorney to manage debt recovery, sectional title levy collections and related litigation matters.
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling full debt collection processes, drafting pleadings, appearing in court and managing legal matters independently, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and maintaining accurate legal documentation.
This opportunity is ideal for an admitted attorney with experience in debt collection, civil litigation, High Court and Magistrate’s Court procedures, and sectional title levy collections.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor of Laws Degree and admission as an Attorney
Minimum one to two years post admission experience
Experience in High Court and Magistrate’s Court litigation and debt collection
Experience in sectional title levy collections highly advantageous
Ability to work independently and manage own matters
Strong knowledge of debt collection legislation and processes
Computer literacy in MS Office, Caselines, Court Online and legal practice management systems
Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle
Stable employment history with contactable references
Residing within commuting distance of Edenvale
Availability to start as soon as possible
