Job Summary

An engineering company is seeking an experienced Field Operator to install, operate and service geophysical surveying equipment while collecting, compiling and archiving related survey data.

The successful candidate will work in remote locations across Africa, Canada and other international sites, and will be required to fly in an aircraft for extended periods while operating onboard survey equipment. This role supports the continuous operation of airborne geophysical systems and requires strong technical ability, attention to detail and a willingness to travel extensively.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience in electronics, field operations, geophysical surveying equipment, data collection, airborne survey systems and remote site work.

Requirements / Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in Electronics
Ability to install, operate and service geophysical surveying equipment
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Critical thinking ability
Strong organisational and planning skills
Ability to work effectively with others in close working environments for extended periods
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in basic mathematics and unit conversion
Computer literacy
Knowledge of internet applications, word processing and spreadsheet software
Valid passport
Valid driver’s licence
Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods with little notice
Ability to perform manual labour, including heavy lifting of more than 40 kg
Ability to sit in an aircraft for long periods and remain on your feet for extended hours when required
